Darkness is the original soundtrack to the Wingless Films production Darkness, composed by Tom Menary. The digital album was released a day after the film itself.
Details
Edit
The album consists of two tracks: The first, "Darkness", is the complete music cue for the film, while the second is a demo track composed prior to filming.
"Darkness" is played primarily on strings, and contains three motifs. The first, composed for the film, plays from fifteen seconds in, and is reprised towards the end of the film. The following two are themes created for the Sunrise series, and introduced here as a prelude to that project. "The Father's Theme" is heard from 0:55, as the film's narrator speaks about his father, and is followed by the second, "Theme from Sunrise" (at 1:13, as the man in the stars appears). A variation of this theme underscores the end titles.
The album's second track, "The Last Light of the World", is not heard in the film.
